Police say the search continues for Kovalik, but they have no idea what happened to her. They said there is no evidence Kovalik is dead, but they have no leads concerning her whereabouts.

Patton said when her sister went missing from her Barton Road residence 24 years, ago, she left behind a 3-year-old son.

Photo from above article of her sister holding a photo of her. There is no photo on the NamUs site. I wonder why? I don't see her on any other sites either.

• Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian female. Brown hair, brown eyes. Kovalik has a birthmark on her inner right forearm. Her maiden name is Monks.

[h=3]Details of Disappearance[/h] Kovalik was last seen in Milford, Connecticut on November 15, 1987. She missed work at Dictaphone Corp. between November 9 and November 11, then returned to work on November 13.

That evening she was seen with two men at the now-defunct McKenna's Bar on Chapel Street in New Haven, Connecticut. An acquaintance said he took her back to Milford and dropped her off at her home on Barton Road on November 15.

Kovalik has never been heard from again. Her family reported her missing on November 22, after she failed to show up for the Thanksgiving Day dinner. She had dropped out of sight before, but only for a few days at a time, and it was highly uncharacteristic of her to miss a family holiday.

One of Kovalik's coworkers said she was acting oddly in the days prior to her disappearance. She left behind a three-year-old son, whom her sister raised. Kovalik left all her clothes behind, and she hasn't used her credit cards since her disappearance.

She was declared legally dead seven years she went missing and her family has erected a headstone for her. Her case remains unsolved.

It says that Elizabeth had dropped out of sight before; is it known why, or where she went those times?

Also, why did her sister raise the child afterwards? It says that Elizabeth had been married, but there is no mention of Dad. Was he deceased, or was there some other reason he wasn't in the picture?

The story told creates more questions than answers
Did the acquaintance dropping her off on the 15th say where spent the 14th?
Was he one of the two men with her on the evening of the 13th?
Did the co-worker elaborate on the odd behaviour in the run up to her disappearance?
Was a reason given for her being off work from 9th to 11th,and as she returned on the 13th was the 12th a day off?

  • Elizabeth failed to show up for Thanksgiving the year that she went missing. She was last seen on Nov. 13 with an acquaintance who drove her to New Haven to visit a friend. Police learned she was in New Haven from Nov. 13 through the 15th. The acquaintance told police he dropped Kovalik off on her street in Milford on Nov. 15, which is the last time anyone saw her.
