Suspect Roger Chiang is the brother of once missing Joyce Chiang, who was found dead months later in a river. Roger was sharing an apartment when his
sister disappeared. Chandra Levy also resided nearby and Roger and his brother John were in news commenting on the similarities between the Levy and Chiang cases.

I was reading her Wikipedia entry a couple of days ago.

Didn't they feature Joyice's case on either "The New Detectives" or another crime show?

This article tells more. It doesn't look like there will be any more information coming out on this case. At least, apparently its solved. This new police chief seems a little more capable than that one back during this Chiang case and the Chandra Levy case.

"D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier announced the closure of a cold case Friday morning but offered no details as to how it was closed."

"Friday morning, Roger Chiang, the victim’s brother, and his boss for the past 12 years, John Walsh, host of “America's Most Wanted,” said Joyce Chiang didn't kill herself.

"She was dragged there by two men who were serial rapists,” Walsh said. “They either threw her into the river or she slipped into the river, in the freezing water, to get away from them."

Lanier did not echo those details, nor did she answer any questions. I think she just really wants to get this case over and done with.

"The two men suspected in the murder may never be charged, sources said. One is jailed in Guyana, which has no extradition to the United States. The other is serving a life sentence for an attack on a woman in Georgetown."

Pretty good comprehensive article, given that the police don't intend to give any details.

Because I followed the Chandra Levy case so closely, it was hard not to know about this case as well.
