BishopAccountability.org is in the process of posting about 30,000 secret files from Wimington, Delaware detailing accusations, complaints, church action (or inaction) taken and the oft told tales of moving the priests around when an accusations of sexual abuse were made.

The Diocese went bankrupt after paying out 77 million dollars to 146 victims, and the files are being released as part of a plea agreement to conclude the process of the restitution.

"It is sad because men who were supposed to be trusted abused children and equally awful is the fact that men who were supervising (them) found it more important to protect what they saw as the interests of the church and containment of scandal," Conaty told reporters outside the diocese headquarters.
Doyle told Reuters that her group wants two monsignors in the diocese forced out of the ministry because of what she believes were cover-ups of sexual abuse.

Diocese spokesman Robert Krebs, however, told Reuters that Bishop W. Francis Malooly, who has headed the diocese since 2008, has seen the documents and would have removed the men if he thought it had been justified.

I have never seen an ounce of evidence that the church is going to stop protecting its priests, bishops, etc. Quite the contrary. They will say one thing, and then turn around and cancel it. The Delaware priests were not supposed to get retirement. They turned around and gave it to them after promising not to. This will never end as long as the Catholic church continues to exist.

Speaking as an ex-Catholic, I continue to be outraged by the behavior of the church and all its minions, from the Pope on down.
