GUILTY PA - Colby Jozefczyk, 16 mos, suffocated, Saltsburg, 5 March 2012

Disgusting! WHEN will women start acting like MOTHERS instead of desperate-for-attention-any-man-will-do girls? Makes me sick.

His 3-year-old sister also had extensive unexplained bruising on her body and had to be taken to the hospital.

“They’re bad,” Jozefczyk said. “I mean, they’re covering [her buttocks]. They’re almost I’d say quarter of the way down her leg and they look like handprints.”

State police served a search warrant at the Saltsburg home of the children’s mother. They were looking for phone records and other items that could provide clues as to how Colby died and his sister was injured.

January 2013:

Twenty-eight-year-old Shawn Anderson-Holmes had pleaded guilty and was sentenced Monday to between 27 months and 10 years in prison in the killing of a toddler who was smothered to death in March 2012.

Authorities say Anderson-Holmes admitted in October to placing a pillow over the face of Colby Jozefczyk, his girlfriend's 16-month-old, and trying to make it look like an accident.

I can't find anything about whether the mother was found guilty or not.

March 2012:

Deputy Coroner John Ackerman told police that the victim appeared to be malnourished, and according to a police affidavit, he had bruises on his forehead, right cheek and right bicep.

Police are also investigating an assault on Colby’s 3-year-old sister, who was at the mother’s residence on Monday.

The childrens’ father, 29-year-old Jonathan Jozefczyk, says that he and Lyons have been separated since June 2011. He told police that neglect and malnourishment issues have prompted intervention from children and youth services from both Indiana and Westmoreland Counties, and that he had taken both children to a Monroeville hospital in February because of severe bruises on their legs.
