Brilliant. I find that I do a lot of those things, within the parameters of "modern day." I'm old enough to remember the gas crisis of the 70s...and it made an impact on me.

A beautifully written piece...and I'd like to smack the youngster who was so rude (and, frankly, uneducated and thoughtless) as to say what they did to someone who lived through the Depression.

Thanks for posting...food for thought.
