Several people were shot and apparently some were killed when a gunman opened fire inside a classroom at an East Oakland private university, authorities said.
The shooting happened at Oikos University at 7850 Edgewater Road about 10:40 a.m. Four bodies outside the school were covered by tarps, and rescue workers removed at least four bodies on stretchers.

An Oakland medical school has had a shooting event.

Asian man, in khakis, with a gun opened fire. Several people have been injured, and they don't know where the gunman is.

Presser: SWAT team is working on scene. Priority is to take care of injured. Not in custody at this time.

More than 1 person has died.

Make sure that area is safe; is likely shooter is still in area.

Asking for any information from anyone about the shooter (seems they are not clear as to who he is).

4 bodies covered by tarps, additional 4 people taken by ambulance to local area hospitals. Additional ambulances are standing by.

God bless all who attended this college, a Christian school. In this Easter Week, it's particularly horrific to see such violence.

Something now about people being shot in/around a street, median, divide; all dead there. Two shooting areas? Two shooters?

Suspect arrested in a Ross clothing store parking lot, in Alameda. Can a local give info as to how far away this is?

I hope so too.
Some news sites are reporting 2 people have been fatally wounded.
KTVU is reporting 5 are deceased.
Either way, this is horribly tragic.
