"A judge sentenced a 71-year-old retired Olympia [WA] teacher to one year in jail Thursday for his conviction on one count of possession of child *advertiser censored*. Jerome Altheide must undergo sex-offender treatment and register as a sex offender upon his release from custody under the terms of his sentence....."

"....Altheide taught in Olympia from 1963-97, a district spokesman has said. He worked at Roosevelt Elementary, McKinley Elementary and Jefferson Middle schools..."
