Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies are looking for the grandson of a woman whose body was found in her home Wednesday.
MCSO spokesman Sgt. Brandon Jones said deputies found the body of 88-year-old Lola Pershall when they did a welfare check at her home near Recker Road and University Drive.
Jones said Pershall's body was in "stages of decomposition," and the cause of death is unknown at this time. It is unclear yet if the case is a homicide, Jones said.
Deputies have located a vehicle registered to Pershall in the Houston, TX area and are investigating its connection to the case and why it is in Texas.
Jones said detectives are looking for Pershall's grandson, Reginald Gardner III, 43, who was living at the home.
Jones said no one has had contact with Gardner for an unknown amount of time and detectives are looking to contact him to confirm his safety.
Gardner is described as a white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, approximately 195 pounds with brown hair, and blues eyes.
