Here is the obit for Bernard's brother in 2010. It lists his surviving relatives which would be Bernard's nieces and nephews. It also states that Leonard was preceded in death by his two brothers.
Leonard John Aurzada, 93, of Park Rapids, died
Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010 at Heritage Living Center
in Park Rapids.
Leonard was born on a farm in Wadena County
Nov. 6, 1916 to John and Alta Aurzada. Leonard’s
father passed away in May of 1925. The family
then moved to Wadena, where Leonard attended
St. Ann’s Parochial School and later Wadena High
School.
He then entered the radio repair business and
worked out of the Gambles Store.
He married Veronica Kern in Bluegrass in January
of 1938. They lived there a short time and then
moved to Wadena.
Leonard served his country in the U.S. Army
during World War II in the Pacific where he was a
radio repair technician for fixed stations.
Upon returning from the war, he then resumed the
radio repair business. This he did until the fall of
1954 when the family moved to Colorado Springs,
Colo. Leonard worked as a radio and TV
repairman until April of 1955. He then began
working for the U.S. Army as an Electronic
Technician where he re-paired communication and
radar equipment for the Army. This he did until
October of 1965.
Leonard and Veronica then moved back to Minnesota and they built their retirement home in Park
Rapids in 1966. He then worked for a short time at the local Coast to Coast Store in Park Rapids.
He and his wife were divorced in January of 1969.
He then worked for the forestry service in the fire tower in Badoura. Then he retired.
He loved to fish, hunt and work in the garden. He held radio calls W9RNI and KOOOI, and general
radio-telephone operator license.
He was an honorary member for life of the Knights of Columbus CO 2107 at Wadena and a member
of the Otto Hendrickson American Legion Post 212 of Park Rapids.
Leonard is survived by his children, Marley Cusick of Colorado Springs, Colo., John (Brenda)
Aurzada of Cheyenne, Wyo., Maxy Ann Satterwhite of Orlando, Fla., seven grandchildren, Michael,
Karen, Marc, Keith, Clayton, Debra, Laura and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Mass of Christian Burial: 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Park
Rapids.
Visitation: 5 until 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, at the Cease Family Funeral Home of Park Rapids. A 7
p.m. rosary service was held.
Interment: Calvary Cemetery at Wadena.
Arrangements were handled by the Cease Family Funeral Home of Park Rapids.
