Thank you for joining Websleuths! :welcome3:

Please remember the following when discussing the Allison Baden-Clay case:
Websleuths is a moderated forum. We strive to discuss cases in a friendly environment.

Our rules can be reviewed here: The Rules (PLEASE make sure you know the rules!)

Currently, we are considering Allison's husband to be a suspected person of interest in this case. There is a possible second party involved per MSM and it is okay to discuss that aspect, but please refrain from accusing anyone of murder at this juncture. Speculating is one thing, accusing is another.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

For a few days in a row, there have been numerous TOS violations on this case. While it may seem harmless to some, we are getting dozens of complaints from other members who want to discuss this case constructively. From now on, there will be more time outs issued to those who repeatedly choose to ignore our guidelines.

Here are just some of the problems that occur over and over:

* Baiting /Trolling / Inciting Conflict:There are times when a member violates our rules by trying to upset other members. Please use your ALERT feature when this happens and DO NOT RESPOND TO THE POSTS. When a moderator is able to deal with the problem, it takes a LOT less time when he/she doesn't have to also deal with all the responses to the offense. Plus, it makes the one who initially started the conflict keep on going.

* Inviting/Baiting: This is when someone says they have information they can't share on the forum. Then someone else asks for them to PM the information. It's like be at a party and whispering secrets to each other and is not allowed here. If you have something private to share, then send a private message and don't announce it on the public thread.

* Dreams/Visions: WS doesn't condone dreams and visions and psychic information. There are plenty of sites out there on the WWW that do, but we are not one of them. We have not found that information to be helpful in solving cases.

* Announcing alerts: Don't announce that you are alerting. Just do your part and make the alert and move on.

* Sleuthing other members: It doesn't matter what they are doing here, we do NOT sleuth other members. Anonymity is taken very seriously on Websleuths. If this continues, a member could lose their posting privileges permanently

* Derogatory Name Changes to Case Players/General Name Calling: is not allowed here. I'm learning more and more Aussie slang, so knock this stuff off.

* “Off-Topic” Posts: Off-Topic posts are subject to editing or removal at administrative discretion, and without notification. Members that continuously post off topic may have their posting privileges suspended. There is a chat thread created just for you guys. Go there and discuss things that interest you, or just to joke around in a positive manner. This thread is for discussion of Allison's murder.

None of these rules are new and a more detailed explanation of them can be found here: Rules Etiquette & Information - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community

Everyone is now being held responsible for knowing the rules.

My avatar is wistful, pensive, reflective....in her field of sunflowers.

Exactly how I'm feeling thinking about the possible implications of fraud and monetary issues in this case. I've thought from the beginning that money was the issue, but don't like to "go there" because in my view, if that is the motive, there has to be some level of premeditation. Some element of planning, or at the very least, day dreaming about an outcome that eliminates a barrier to fixing a financial disaster.

How much sadder would this be for the girls?

People should call out for help, and suppress their pride, when they get into financial difficulty, rather than take a route that has no happy ending. I've had my times...the Smith Family was fabulous! (Long time ago....and there was no way I was going to refuse their help with a kid to support)

only two of us on...my conference calls have ended...guess i should be sensible and go to bed!!!!

Good night Australia, Good morning Americas

agreed expat

someone did mention that once the all details were known, they'd be a lot harder to accept, not that i am basing my opinion on that. yet, hey, when money is considered to be more important than human life, it's nauseating...

Possibility and IMO it is starting to look really messy and much less like a DV gone wrong.

With all respect to Rudra I am starting to get a feeling that the QPS and DPP have nailed GBC and are trying to nail the accessories. Not just as accessories before or after the fact of a criminal homicide but in relation to a whole lot more. Those company structures from what I could gleam looked incredible suss and IMO everyone involved (including TM) are up to their proverbial ears.

I believe GBC will be nailed for criminal homicide, crimininal negligence, misuse of public funds due to not providing information whilst 100s are searching, fraud, certain high levels of white-collar crime incl use of trust funds, conflicts of interest, financial corruption and the rest of them will go down like rats on a sinking ship. They will have accessory to criminal homicide before or after the fact charges as well as primary charges relating to all of the above.

All IMOO

Time for bed. Goodnight all. The sunflowers are like beacons of justice!!!

IMO BANG ON. This is where my mind wandering led me to last night after digging around at all the info available on the ATO & ASIC, too many red flags and I thought back to the very little, yet succint, information we've heard directly from those investigating this that I could not wander away from this scenario above. IMO, the possibility of numerous persons being charged with serious high level fraud may just be key for them to get their murder charge that will stand up in any court of appeal. Those red flags, I'm starting to think it alarmed them as soon as they discovered it (possibly before she was found, thinking back to the changes we heard, POI, Missing Person Case, day she was found 'we've been treating this as an unlawful homicide investigation for some time') has told them a lot more than any one witness has yet...excluding possible accessories and evidence.
IMO of course.

Off topic.

Just a little note to you all regarding the sunflowers,it is an amazing gesture isn't it?
I truly hope that if something untoward would ever happen to me that people would care enough to do this. I love how people's personalities shine through in their flower choice.(Mine was for all of us)
May Allison's memory live on through love and happiness. If indeed this is a DV case I believe she will empower many women to take a stand.
I hope she finds justice soon.

imamaze..... Colonel mustard is not really a hidden meaning. It is the husband(GBC)'s nickname. Hence the mystery,Colonel mustard did it in the library eg and also his work jacket is a mustard colour. Just thought I'd clear it up while I saw you on line.

Although this is pretty harmless, it's a WS rule not to use name variations. In order to be consistent with everyone, please don't use this as a description of GBC anymore.

Cheers!

Hi Kimster, do you want Gerard referred to as GBC and Allison as ABC?

Hi Kimster, do you want Gerard referred to as GBC and Allison as ABC?

I was simply trying to clear up a joke someone else made about Colonel mustard to Imamaze from the previous thread.

I don't think people had actually started using it.

Good question bayside, seems the safest.

Initials or names are fine. Both are mentioned in the mainstream media, so according to our practices, each can be used.

The problem with name variations is that it leads to making fun and/or bashing the players, which is a huge problem. And also, people who aren't familiar with the case will read here and not know who in the heck we're talking about. It took me awhile to figure it out and I check in every day!

It took me a half a beat...but then I'm around kids all day long.
Hey, where is everybody? Is it night time on the other side of the world?
I check in daily as well...wish we knew more about what LE is doing.

Morning! It's 5.25am Brisbane/Sydney/Melbourne Australia time

Good Morning All!
It is interesting to watch the drip feed of leaks via the CM. I can feel the pressure mounting myself and can only imagine the rush for GBC and Co to stay up to see what the CM will run or what PT will blog on any day.
Thankyou to everyone for the sunflower symbology. A lovely gesture and somewhat uplifting during a time when we wait for QPS to do their finest work.

Hi Kimster,
There is a nice T2 tea available here called Brisbane Breakfast - one of my favourite morning cuppas. Love the mugs - we will need to induct you amd the other mods as Fair Dinkum Aussies - warn you that we have a few tests for you to get through first. Vegemite and toast for a start, followed by a Bundy and coke. Apologys for being off topic for a moment.
