Given the global reach of WS and each country's unique systems of law combined with the global interest in this case and many of us, myself included, being from countries other than Canada, might I suggest adding the following to the OP and please integrate into the case's new forum:

This booklet, also available via .pdf (here) is a good, very basic starting point or primer and answers many of the questions that have repeatedly popped up in these threads.
