FOLLY BEACH, SC (WCSC) -
Investigators have arrested a 67-year-old man who is accused of sitting on a 13-year-old girl and fondling her in front of her family at Folly Beach on Saturday.
The victim's family told officers that Rogers approached them uninvited and sat down on the girl's legs, trapping her to the ground. The victim and multiple witnesses said that Rogers rubbed and touched the victim on her upper legs and pelvis area over her bathing suit.
The victim said that when she tried to get up, the suspect was forcing her down and not allowing her to get up.
An incident report states that the grandmother had to physically pull the victim away from the suspect. The family said they then went into the ocean after telling the suspect to stop and leave.
Investigators say the family was in the water for 20 minutes because the suspect would not leave. The family said that the entire time they were in the water, the suspect was staring at them and making them feel unsafe.
