These girls have been missing all afternoon and the search was suspended tonight now that it's dark here. We're a small town next to a larger city but a small police force that has likely never dealt with missing kids.. Bikes found on the trail and purse and phone had been thrown over the fence near the bikes but the other side of the fence is a hill leading to the highway. Right now the search is very disorganized and there aren't any flyers :(.

Both Collins and also the Cook/Morrissey families, through family friend and spokesman Craig Ceilley, expressed gratitude for care and compassion expressed by their community.

Another abduction attempt reported. Its 2 1/2 hours away from Evansdale.

The Polk County Sheriff’s office is investigating the attempted abduction of two boys in Grimes, Iowa.
The Sheriff's Office said at 1:20 p.m. Sunday two boys ages 3 and 11 were approached by a man in a black Ford F150 near the area of West First Street and NW Calista Court.
 
I saw mentioned in the last thread something about a surveillance video but cannot find a link - is there one with the girls in it? or one related to this case at all?

I'll have to look for it, but I'm almost positive I *just* yesterday read another story about an attempted abduction involving a black truck. This summer is insane! It's like the summer that elizabeth smart was abducted...there were SO many child murders that summer...one of them lived near us (Samantha Runnion) - my daughter heard about all the kidnapping/murder stories from her friends and was so frightened she slept on our bedroom floor for months.

There is a very brief, low quality video from a security cam from the back of Cornbelt Auctions that shows two bicyclists. LE has identified them as Elizabeth and Lyric.

Regarding recent attempted abductions involving black trucks, there's this one (Indiana, June 2012):

And this report from April of this year in West Virginia, involving a person in a black truck who chased two kids aged ten and twelve when they wouldn't get into his truck. The article also mentions that that county ALONE is investigating as many as TEN abduction attempts!

:maddening:It feels like somebody put out a bounty on kids this summer -- and every bumbling idiot is trying to collect -- and sometimes they get lucky.
