It is entitled Joe Paterno FBI File. That implies he was under investigation. Quite the opposite. The file is highly redacted. JoePa really went through a lot. Death threats that went on for years. He didn't seem phased - even expressed to the FBI that he wanted to help the person. Anyways - FBI just released this. Long read. Death threat letters - phonecalls - a fruitcake that the FBI seems to fingerprint for a decade. No arrest made - as far as I can tell. Though at one point there were some suspects - redacted of course. One football player's name is in there - They were looking for a Dad of a player.

Well it seems there is more to it than that. The early documents list victim names. The later docs most of those names are removed. 2 men were arrested. And possible suspect was 1 possibly 2 women. A Person or persons threatened to shoot JoePa during televised games - at least 2 years in a row. A lady or high school student - or both - in addition to others were sent death threats - but specific to the girl was threat of accident. And it appears this accident did take place after the threats. FBI was monitoring the games - even the Fiesta Bowl in Arizona. JoePa requested a phone trap on his home phone that was approved. This investigation went on for almost 20 years. 40 pages are not included with the report. After 300 + pages into this report - it gets pretty personal.

Just goes to show that JP wasn't one to be intimidated-- the actions he took to shield, coverup, and hide, the truth about Jerry was a calculated decision.

He wasn't a typical old man... he was a ruthless competitor in an often violent arena. mo
