Sounds like it could be. Ronald Doop is still around. There are only two listed for the US and they are in Wenatchee WA.

Riley Church is also listed as going to the Special Olympics. Riley has a brother Marion Church - as well as some other relatives who might know someone from Chuck Donnatelli's family. This is the find-a-grave site for Riley's mother's grave:

4,000 athletes participated in the 1983 International Special Olympics. Three of these were from Wenatche. They had a coach. Here is a Special Olympics contact site:

I found an obituary on ancestry and I think it's Chuck Donnatelli's but you have to pay to access the docuement. The first name appears to be a miss-spelling but everything else fits!
