Family and friends of a Miami area teen who went missing in Gainesville last week resumed their search for him Monday.

The last time anyone saw 18-year old Christian Aguilar was last Thursday around 6 p.m. when he reportedly got into a fight with 18-year old Pedro Bravo. According to Carlos Aguilar, Bravo is his son’s friend from Doral Academy. He added that his son was currently dating a girl who Bravo had dated when they lived in South Florida. He did not say if he thought the fight may have been over her. Bravo reportedly told police that after the fight he left Aguilar in a parking lot in the 4900 block of NW 13th St (US 441) in northwestern Gainesville. Police believe that Aguilar may be disoriented and/or seriously injured, and unable to seek medical attention.

Consider a Person of Interest in Aguilar’s disappearance, Bravo has not been charged with a crime. He was, however, held for mental examination under Florida’s Baker Act after he allegedly made comments to investigators that he wanted to harm or kill himself.

The newspaper reports that Bravo has not been charged but is being held under the state's Baker Act after making comments to police about wanting to harm himself.

Aguilar's friends and relatives have been searching for him since Friday. He was last seen wearing a blue-gray hoodie and light-colored jeans.

Father of Missing UF Teen Asks for Help in the Search for His Son

On Sunday, friends and family of the student continued assisting authorities with the search. His father told NBC 6 South Florida that a team of detectives was searching for his son in a wooded area.

Carlos Aguilar said his son had plans to study biomedical engineering and was happy to be a Florida Gator.

His friend talks about him in the article and really misses him. I wish they would pin point a little better where he was last seen.

Although this is very vague so far, what is being reported does not sound good at all....Praying for this young man to return home...:(
 
I hope they find this young man...

I assume they have already checked with all surrounding medical facilities...
 
I hope this kid talks... I just have a feeling he didn't leave christian in a parking lot... and his baker act is a lot of "barking" if you will

His aunt, Sandra Aguilar, said a group of more than 30 people came up in a bus from Miami to help search. A cousin who searched alongside State Road 121 east of U.S. 441 with the aunt and other family members said Aguilar liked to listen to Kanye West and play soccer.

Aguilar recently graduated from Doral Academy in Miami and started at UF in the summer, the cousin said. Many of the group that came up from Miami on the bus were from his high school.

I have nothing intelligent to offer...this makes me so sad....obviously a very well liked young man....my youngest son goes to FSU and these types of stories scare me to death...so many cases too close to home for me lately. I do not think this one sounds like it will end well...

The search for missing University of Florida student Christian Aguilar, 18, has moved to an area across from Cabana Beach Apartments off Southwest 20th Avenue, with as many as 150 friends, family and volunteers joining police in combing a wooded area near Interstate 75.

I have some questions...

did the POI leave the parking lot (supposedly) by car?... If so, could dirt/muck/debris on tires and underside of car give clues to where he went after the altercation?

Was POI's apt./home searched thoroughly?
 
I am one of a family of Gators and have two nieces at school there, now.

Hoping Christian is found safe and soon, but this does not sound good. :(
 
Is there a timeline preceding, during, and after the altercation?

How about witnesses?

Lots of info is needed!

does the POI have any priors?
