Jiovany's name may be spelled Giovani, Giovanni, or Xovane. He speaks both English and Spanish.



Jiovany was last seen in San Marcos, Texas on November 27, 2010 with his uncle, Ricardo Gomez, and three other adult males, Luis Hernandez, Nicholas Munoz, and Carlos Ortega-Gonzales. They are all missing. They were driving a green 2003 Chevy Suburban with Texas license plates AD98575.

Jiovany and the men had gone to the border town Laredo, Texas to pick up some paperwork for a vehicle. They decided to cross the border into Nuevo Laredo, Mexico to do some shopping. Jiovany had never been to Mexico before.

Hernandez called his wife at about noon and said they would be home by 7:00 or 8:00 pm. They never returned.

Although Jiovany is classified as a runaway by many agencies, the circumstances of the disappearances are unclear. They may still be in Mexico. Foul play is possible.
