What classic (more than 20 years old) unsolved murder case interests you most? Cases listed in approximate order of occurrence.

I jilted Jack the Lad for once, and said, "Make mine the Cleveland Torso Slayer (1934-38)."

The Yogurt shop murders, although of the poll options I selected the Tylenol poisonings.

The political murders of the 60's JFK, RFK,and MLK.... in all probablity never to be solved..

Just a question ... I'm familiar with all the above cases except the Babysitter. Can I find it here on websleuths?

While I have in fact read several books on the subject, I'd put the Dahlia in the bottom five in terms of interest.

Of say the top 5 per this poll.....can some smart Sleuther give a two sentence synopsis of each 5?

Well, okay, here goes:

Jack the Ripper: madman's reign of terror in Victorian England's Whitechapel district in 1888 results in five canonical murders and yields a wealth of possible suspects which have fascinated for the last 124 years.

Tylenol Poisonings: in late 1982 in the Chicago area, seven die after taking poisoned over-the-counter Extra Strength Tylenol capsules.

Black Dahlia: would-be actress disappears and is discovered early one morning in 1947, in a vacant lot, hideously disfigured, severed at the waist, drained of blood, and washed and cleaned.

Zodiac: in California in the late '60s and early '70s seven die at the hands of a killer whose cryptic messages to newspapers also state his claims to having killed 37 people.

Taman Shud: the death of an unidentified man on Somerton Beach near Adelaide (Australia) in 1948 is unsolved; an undetected poison, Cold War tensions, and a possible love interest make this a great mystery 64 years on.

Thank you for the "skinny" on the top cases, wfgodot :rocker:

I voted for Jack the Ripper because it has intrigued me since I was a child. I'm interested in the Black Dahlia, but being Australian I want to know about Tamun Shud, the Beaumont children and the Wanda Beach murders.

My goodness. In 4 years it will be 20 years since JonBenet Ramsey was murdered.

Top Five cases above which have thus far received no votes:

05. Brighton Trunk Mystery
04. Thames Torso Murders
03. Bible John
02. Texarkana Phantom
01. Julia Wallace Murder

Honorable mention: Boston Strangler; Lord Errol; Shirley Collins
