Probably a coincidence since the timing and the location are way off and the circumstances sound like Robert Duerr might have come to harm locally soon after disappearing.

Thanks... I wonder how many other cases have actually been solved and just not updated.

The resemblance to the other reconstruction is pretty good but the facial shape is way off in the more round-faced one and it's not just because it depicts a fatter person imo.

I think the first one is a reworked version of the morgue photo (look how artificial the eyes are) and reflects considerable bloating from the drowning. If you look at the bone structure underneath the fat, the dimensions are very similar.

Glad they found him!

And yes, I suspect that there are lots of cases that have been ID'd and not updated.
