Details of Disappearance
Chalice was separated from her husband John Paul Sr. and was living in Atlanta. He visited her there and convinced her to come to Florida to possibly reconcile.

She disappeared sometime later, no exact date is known. No investigation information to her disappearance is known. Her husband later divorced Chalice in the foreign country of Haiti in order to marry another woman.

In 1983 John Paul Sr. attempted murder of a man in St. Augustine, Florida and eventually was charged and found guilty. While out on bail he fled to Switzerland and later was extradited back to stand trial. He served over twenty years in Leavenworth prison. Upon his release he moved to South Florida to live with his son.

He met a new female companion (Colleen Wood) shortly after his release from prison and starting his new life in South Florida. He convinced her to sail around the world in which she complied without knowing anything about his past. She never made the trip and is considered a missing person. She disappeared around the end of 2000 and was last seen with John Paul Sr. in South Florida.

He changed the name of his boat from Island Girl to Diamond Girl and took off sailing around the world. Shortly after a story about him aired on the television show called Unsolved Mysteries he was recognized by someone in the Fiji Islands. He then sailed back to Europe, sold his sailboat called Diamond Girl in a Sailboat magazine in Italy. He is now currently living in Thailand.

Woah! I followed Colleen Wood's story and I'm shocked to hear he has an ex wife missing too. So he divorced her in Haiti and married another woman but then wanted to reconcile with Chalice? So what happened to wife #2 (presumably)???

I think the divorce in Haiti came after Chalice's mysterious disappearance. Paul Sr. married the sister of another race car driver. She fled with him after he did not show up for trial for attempted murder charges in 1983. They caught him and his wife in a Swiss bank. He was wearing a disguise. Whoa! My first thought was that maybe he was JP Sr. JP was know to use a number of aliases. But then I looked up Oxby and found he was allegedly threatened at gunpoint by someone he knew: https://geralddouglasoxby.wordpress.com/where-is-gerald-douglas-oxby/disappearance/

Does Oxby's boat look like it could be the same boat that JP later owned? They look roughly the same size but pictures are from different angles. Maybe with a different paint job? JP "renamed" his boat before taking off in 2000.

It is possible it's the same boat if JP is responsible for Oxby's disappearance but he did go to prison for a while after that. He could have stored the boat somewhere or his son stored it. I wonder how easy it is to just change a name of a boat. It is too coincidental IMO that JP was in the keys around the same time that Oxby and his boat disappeared and then he shows up in Haiti to get a divorce and then ends up in St Augustine after that where he was charged with attempted murder. He could have sold it too.
If it's not the same boat it's possible someone else and their boat went missing after JP got out of prison. He's a very bad man and I wouldn't put anything past him.

John Paul, Sr., has been linked to two missing women. Both are presumed dead by his hand, so he should be considered a serial killer. I would not be at all surprised to learn that he was responsible for Oxby's disappearance. I also wouldn't be surprised to learn that he played a role in the murder of the Sumter County does.

Chalice was never investigated or put in the National database because the family never entered her as a missing person back in 1981.

I have been trying for years since to get Decatur Georgia PD or Key West PD to file an official cold case on her. I even brought in the station in Decatur a live witness who was the last person to see her alive and they had no interest.

Namus got a complimentary DNA collection from Chalice Paul’s sister that was loaded in the FBI Codus database in search of a match.
