Officials Hope Medical Examiner Can Determine Victim's Age, Sex, Race

HOUSTON -- Houston police hope an autopsy will help them figure out whose skeletal remains were found in a southwest Houston field Saturday.

A father and son were working in an overgrown lot on Holmes Road near the Astrodrome when they discovered the body at about noon.

Homicide investigators told Local 2 there were now signs of trauma to the bones.

Anyone with information should call the Houston Police Department Homicide Division at (713) 308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at (713) 222-TIPS.

Incident at 11700 Keely Street

February 6, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the skeletal remains found at 11700 Keely Street on Saturday, February 5, 2005, about 12:05 p.m.

The gender, age, and race of the skeleton is unknown and will be investigated
by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office. There was no apparent
evidence of trauma to the skeleton.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant D. Ferguson and Officer B. McDaniel reported:

A father and son were walking in an overgrown lot in southwest Houston not far
from the Astrodome. As they were looking for recyclable materials, they found
the skeleton of a person. The skeleton appears to have been in the area for
sometime.

Anyone with information on the possible identity of this person, or anyone who
may know of person(s) who went missing in this area of Houston, are urged to
contact the HPD Homicide Division at (713) 308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at (713)
222-TIPS.

So there seems to be a recon of the remains. The date is wrong though. On WS it says Feb '05 and on this it says April. The case in Feb was completely different. If this is the recon of this thread then at least there is something new.

I think this is a different case, the one with the recon was found in Apr in the 2000 block of Lamar and the one this thread is about was found in Feb on Holmes Road
