Pinehurst, N.C. — Pinehurst police on Thursday arrested the caregiver of a dementia patient after they say the pair drove to Scotland County to get married.
Authorities said Carol Ann O'Cause, 68, picked up Henry Eugene Aiken, 83, from Pinehurst Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center on Monday for a doctor's visit but never showed up for the appointment.

Kudos to Bill Floyd, an attorney at the courthouse who recognized Mr Aiken from the Silver Alert. His experience in elder law caused him to read the situation for what it was, and after he notified the magistrate it was determined that O'Cause had an outstanding warrant for felonious restraint.

She is in custody and Mr Aiken is safe.

If we're to believe Twitter this lady had her foot in the door. Not sure if I'm allowed to link to Twitter, but hers is AIKENCHIEF!

She got some nice digs too if that house on FB is hers.

Glad Mr. Aiken is alright.
