"We need answers and this has to stop!" said Brittany Jones, Whitnei Dubois's sister.

Brittany and Taylor check the news daily for any answers to their sister--Whitnei Dubois's death. Dubois was the fourth victim to be found.

Their biggest struggle is telling Whitnei's young daughter her mommy isn't coming home without an explanation of what happened to her.

"If they would have found out what had happened when the first girl died, then, the second girl wouldn't have died, or the third, or the fourth, or the fifth," Jones said. Brittany Jones wonders why after a year, she has still never been told what happened to her sister. Brittany said, "All we know is that she was found naked on a dirt road, decomposed."

Having the screenshot of where the body was found is incredibly helpful, Bessie. Thanks so much.

In September of 2009, Rebecca Chaisson of the Jennings Daily News, began writing a series of articles on the Jeff Davis 8. The first in the series, "She Deserved Better" is no longer available, however I was lucky to receive permission to reprint the article, in full, on my site. It can be found here.

Did Rebecca stop writing about the victims after Whitnei? I sure would love to hear Ernestine's story.

That I recall, they did not finish the series. I checked the wayback machine and found nothing. However, I will check with Rebecca, just in case I missed something. Btw, here is the lead-in to the above story. ( link )

Putting a human face on an inhuman tragedy

In all of the talk about unsolved murders, potential serial killers and law enforcement investigations that have occurred since 2005, we realized there was one group of people who were being shortchanged in the constant media coverage: the victims.

Eight young women have met grisly ends in this parish in killings that may or may not be related, but up until now, the only real connection most of the public has had with these women are a series of driver’s license mugshots on the front pages of a newspaper or on the evening TV news.

I cried when I read this story of Whitnei's tragic life and death. She had the cards stacked against her from the get go! Rest peacefully Whitnei
