A Detroit man, who strangled his girlfriend at a Roseville motel and then burned her body, pleaded guilty Monday to second-degree murder.

Jason Edward Coleman, 20, will be sentenced next month to 40 to 60 years in prison for the death of Jalona Stafford, 19, of Detroit, the night of Feb. 13, 2005, in a room at the Econo Lodge on 13 Mile Road. The couple rented the room to celebrate Valentine's Day...

The pair had known each other since elementary school and had been dating for about two years before the incident. Coleman told police they had gotten into an argument about the TV program they were watching. He wanted to watch the movie, "Blade II," while she wanted to watch the Grammy Awards.
