Investigators hope autopsy results will explain how a Pensacola woman was killed.

An autopsy was performed today on the body found Friday afternoon, in a field off Highway 29.

..........Investigators say it's been tough tracking her movements before that time because it appears Melisa was homeless. But, many people in the area say they knew Melisa and they too hope someone can help solve this homicide soon.

Vonnie Geiberger says she met Melissa Townsend not too long ago.

"She was very kind and caring person. You know, I think she had some mental issues. Obviously she's had a hard life and a lot of problems, but she was sweet and didn't deserve this," Geiberger said............

The lack of a stable home place has made the investigation even tougher.

"A human is a human. Whether they're homeless or down on their luck or a millionaire, it doesn't matter. They're still human and they didn't deserve to have their life taken like that. That's why we're asking anyone with information to come forward," said ECSO spokesperson Mike Ward.............
