I would like to discuss the idea put forth by Harmony2 that BSL.may be a person to look at in the murder of NG. Here's a little background.

BSL confessed and later recant to murdering Mickey Shunick from La Fayette LA and Lisa Pate from Youngsville LA.

BSL frequented a salon in Crowly LA and flirted with a woman who worked there.

Can someone upload a map showing the distance/ traveling route between St Landry st. LA, Crowly LA, Youngsville LA, and Jennings?

The salon is in Crowly LA

MS was abducted from St Landry st in La Fayette.

L. Pate's body was found in Acadia Parish.
M. Shunick's body was found Aug. 7 buried near some grave sites in a small cemetery off La. Highway 10 in the Evangeline Parish near Mamou.
N. Guillory was found near interstate 10 in Eagan.

Hope that helps.

Here is the post by Harmony2 that I brought over from the Mickey Shunick thread.

Well here it says that based on a home search they don't think he's connected to any other crimes in the are. So maybe this thread is for naught?

Hamilton did confirm that Lavergne is not considered a suspect in any local disappearances or unsolved crimes.
"We didn't find anything else to suggest any other crimes committed in the Acadiana area," he said.

MAP here.

Necole is included in another MAP I put together of possible BSL victims, i.e., missing/murdered after he was released from prison and prior to his arrest for Mickey's murder.

This is interesting. As it was thought that killer may have used caustic soda to accelerate decomp on some of the victims. Which is apparently used on off shore rigs.
BSL was incarcerated from Feb 2000-Aug 2008. His timeline fits with only the last three killings.

Personally, I don't think he's a good suspect for Necole's murder, mainly because he made an effort to conceal the bodies of his known victims. Mickey Shunick was partially buried in a remote cemetery. Lisa Pate was found under some boards on the back of a property in rural Acadia Parish.

The caustic soda might be a clue to an offshore employee, but in SWLA that could be one of thousands.

Would caustic soda be detectible by forensics? Has it been reported that it was used?

yes it would be detectable--it causes a whitening of bones and causes them to become fragile, crushable to the touch--it also degrades the organic matter and collagen found in bones

does anyone know if the rigs receive supplies only when boats go in and out, or do they receive helicopter fly ins..?

Only boats... Helios are for crew change, boss man, or emergencies

(Sorry so late hope that helps clarify things... Husband was a crane op offshore for over 2 decades and must have unloaded a million boats! Lol also depending on company some use ONLY boats for both resupplies AND crew to save money so basically what should have been an hour long flight can turn into an 18hr sea sick nightmare on a dingy! Well... Okay... Maybe a LIL bigger than that but still! )

Question...

Why does the map start in youngsville instead of somewhere near his home?

He lived in church point/lawtell and his mother lived in Crowley so imo I'd imagine he would have been getting those haircuts on days when he was visiting w/ mom and if that's the case then jennings is the NEXT exit after crowley on the interstate so... Just wondering if you knew something i didn't! Lol again sorry so late just finding this by accident and thought I'd contribute since... Uhhh... Considering... You know... I mean...

I was HIS neighbor!!!

(Mic Drop)

:D

Hahahaha seriously tho! Smh sadly not my FIRST "interactions" with a sk for some reason tho... Hmmph that sounds not the way i imagined! Lol anyways I have alotta mixed feelings about the entire thing... I'm not really sure HOW I feel about it or what EXACTLY I believe even... I guess that's why ALL these years later I still read up on anything i find about BSL I was just trying to see if there was any new news on the Jennings murders tbh! (This post is already long af so depending on if anyone even reads this I can divulge... It has been a very LONG time afterall so I guess we'll see!)
