He knocked on my next door neighbor's door, and that's when I heard the noise," Schofield said. "All he said is, 'My baby is not breathing! My baby is not breathing! Can I use your phone?' And she was like, 'I don't know you, but I will call 911 for you,' and that's what she did."
Hurst police detectives are investigating the homicide, but have released no information about the circumstances of the crime. It was not clear whether any suspects are in custody.
Neighbors we talked to said they had seen Anastasia in the area before, but were not certain whether she lived there or was only visiting.

sounds like a case that hits close to home for me as well. At least the ME was on the ball for this little girl and LE is on top of it.

Unlike in the case I am close to or in Julliette's case, charges and justice will not be delayed for this little girl. :(

Anastasia's mother and father never married.

Family members say the young couple lived in Arkansas but separated shortly after Anastasia was born.

Turnpitt went to Indiannapolis to live with a friend of the family.

She says Anastasia would often spend weeks at a time with her father.

FOX4 spoke to Turnpitt in Indiannapolis by phone.

She said Williams flew to Indiannapolis in November of 2011.

"He told me that he wanted to come pick up our daughter for two weeks and he would bring her back before Christmas," said Angela Turnpitt. "Two weeks went by no call no messages on Facebook, nothing," said Turnpitt.

She says that was the last time she saw Anastasia.

"There are indications of prior bruising before she was found Friday."

Hurst’s Assistant Chief of Police Richard Winstanley told NBC 5 he doesn’t know if the deadly hit to the stomach that killed 3-year-old Anastasia Williams happened Friday or days before.

Winstanley said the medical examiner’s office is still working to determine how the fatal blow happened and when it occurred.

He lives at the apartment with his girlfriend.

Unexcusable. This little one died needlessly, brutally - at the hands of her father. Why
was there not enough love to save this little one. RIP, little angel.

Mom hasn't seen Anastasia in two years?? What was the reason she didn't have this baby? She was only three. Sounds to me like this poor baby never had a chance. I'll never understand it.

Right, and the mother makes no mention of her calling him to find out what is going on, or posting on FB to him for the same. Why didn't she make further efforts to get her daughter back? She could have called LE or DPW to ask them to check on things since she had not heard from him. They were not married and unless he was adjudicated the legal father in court, he did not have any custody rights.

Two dang years and she never checked?

However, I'm suspicious of the GF in the child's death.

2 weeks since Anastasia died and no new news!!!

FINALLY

The father of a 3-year-old Hurst girl who was beaten to death last month was arrested Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of killing her at the family's Hurst apartment, Hurst police said.

Hurst police identified the man as Robert Marquis Lamar Williams, 26.

Robert Williams was in the Hurst Jail Tuesday in lieu of $100,000 bail.

He is expected to be charged with murder-serious bodily injury, Hurst police said.

“He was always a good dad. Always,” she said.

My question is, how the h*ll would she know? She says he wouldn't give her back (good dad?) and that she hadn't seen her "princess" for almost 2 years of the baby's life, so since she was 1 (good dad? good mom?) and she remains convinced he would never harm their daughter but it must be the gf???

Shades of Bianca Lily Jones smdh.

I just read he used the daughter pee to pass a drug test after she died. This case is going to trial now.

January 2016:

Hurst father convicted of murder, not capital murder, in 3-year-old’s death

http://www.star-telegram.com/news/local/community/hurst-euless-bedford_news/article57385768.html

At least two jurors were visibly weeping as they returned Friday afternoon with a guilty verdict for a Hurst father accused of beating his 3-year-old daughter to death, a prosecutor said.

The verdict, however, was not for capital murder of a person under 10, as prosecutors sought.

The jury convicted Robert Williams, 28, of the lesser charge of murder.

Williams’ attorneys then asked visiting state District Judge Jerry Woodlock, not the jury, to sentence Williams. Woodlock gave him 55 years in prison.

Had Williams been convicted of capital murder, he would have been sentenced automatically to life without parole. But the sentence for murder includes the possibility of parole.

“The jury saw him for the monster he is and held him responsible for the merciless beating of his own child,” prosecutor Dale Smith said.

“We are pleased that the judge saw fit to sentence him to 55 years for ending her life.”

Anastasia Williams died March 22, 2013, from a lacerated liver, the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office ruled. Melinda Westmoreland and Smith, who presented the state’s case, gave the jury photographs that showed the toddler’s body covered with bruises.
