A missing Grand Rapids woman's case was featured Monday on the Nancy Grace show.

Latrice Maze, 26, was last seen March 19 in the area of Burton Street and Division Avenue. Family members reported her missing after she failed to pick up one of her children from school.

On her website, Grace says Maze left no cell phone or credit card clues.

"Since her disappearance, there has been no digital footprint or trace of Maze. Maze's family says she does have a cell phone but the battery died, so there is no way for police to trace or "ping" her phone. Also, none of Maze's credit or debit cards have been used. Maze does not have a personal computer, but a source reveals there have been some disturbing threats against Maze posted on Facebook. Details of those threats have not been disclosed."

Mother of five reported missing after she doesn't pick up daughter from school

Source: Investigation into Facebook threats linked to missing mother

The last reported sighting of Latrice Maze is near her home

Latrice Maze, a mother devoted to her five children, loved family get-togethers on Sundays. But the last few Sundays, Maze has been missing from the family gatherings in Grand Rapids, Michigan. No one has seen the 26-year-old since March 19 at about noon. That’s the last reported sighting of Maze on the corner of Division and Burton Streets near her residence. When she didn’t pick up her daughter from elementary school on March 20, her family knew something was wrong. Grand Rapids Police, investigating the case, also confirm Maze missed an appointment. Her family says it was routine for the mother of five to pick up her little girl at about 3:30 p.m. and if Maze couldn’t make it, her mother or her sister would step in. When the elementary school called to report that Maze never showed up, her family knew something was wrong and called police at approximately 1:30 p.m. to report her missing.

Maze failed to appear at a Tuesday visitation appointment at D.A. Blodgett - St. John's, 805 Leonard St. NE in Grand Rapids with one of her daughters who is in foster care, according to the child's father, Kenneth Harris.

According to police, she also failed to pick up one of her children at school on Wednesday.

Harris said he has two children with Maze. Harris said Maze has missed visitation appointments in the past, but it is unlike her to simply disappear.

He said Maze's family members called him, looking for Maze and asking if he had heard from her.

Respectfully snipped:

"...but a source reveals there have been some disturbing threats against Maze posted on Facebook. Details of those threats have not been disclosed."

I wonder if those threats are domestic or nondomestic in nature?

Hertel says any suspect involved in Maze’s disappearance probably isn’t a stranger, but until leads become concrete evidence, the Maze family has to wait for answers.

“It’s pretty typical of any criminal investigation to keep your cards close,” Hertel says, ”until you’re ready to present the case to the prosecutor and get somebody charged and then sit down with the family and say, ‘This is what we did. This is what we found. This is why we couldn’t tell you back then.’”

But several leads are coming now because of a number of investigative subpoenas.

“Very powerful tool,” Hertel says. ”We seem to get a lot more there under investigative subpoena because of the threat of a perjury charge.”

One of Maze’s relatives tells FOX 17 that the family is “ecstatic” about the new developments, but that they’re still “waiting for answers.” The family member also says the family wants to stay quiet until the investigation is over, hoping not to disturb GRPD’s investigation.

Hertel says more investigative subpoenas will be exercised in the case throughout the week. Anybody with tips on the whereabouts of Latrice Maze can call GRPD at 616.456.3400 or Silent Observer at 616.774.2345.

More than 100 friends and family gathered on Jefferson St. in Grand Rapids Sunday afternoon to remember a mother that’s been missing for more than six weeks – now coming to grips with the notion that they’ll never see her again.

Latrice Maze, 26, has been missing since March 19 when she disappeared from the corner of Burton and Division around 12:00 p.m.

Her family told FOX 17 on Friday that police have now made her case a homicide investigation.

Hopefully he will reveal where she is, or they will find her soon. So sad.
