The questions today were okay. We can never tell what the jurors are thinking and why they ask the questions that they do.

We were all anxiously waiting for rebuttal. It has come and gone now. It has all happened so fast. It's all a bit surreal.

Given that the defendant was so worked up from court today, I wonder if Wilmott calmed her before she was led to her transportation back to jail today ?

This is why they started with extra jurors. Because they *know* they will lose some along the way. The most important thing is that they have 12 jurors seated through deliberations and through the next phase.

Moved this over from the previous thread to get everyone's thoughts on the Admin of the State vs Jodi Arias page's thoughts:

I read this on the State vs Jodi Arias FB Page and I think it is very compelling:

I just read some of the comments on the page and realised that we all have our doubts at time. We are scared that Arias will get off or that she will get a lesser charge of LWOP or even LWP.

Then, today, I got a link of the crime scene photos, and while I looked at them I realised that the JURY will see these horrid photos. These photos were so clear, but horrid that I could not even drink a glass of water, that is how sick I felt.

I then knew that if the Jury will look at those pics, which they will, there is NO NO NO way Arias will get anything less than Death. Those photos are heart wrenching. Not even a pure bred pitbull terrier will mutilate a person like Arias did to Travis. I understand how strong evil can be and Arias was the prime example given to mankind to show us the true meaning.

She MUTILATED Travis for NO reason. She walked away with a sore finger. She will get nothing less than death. And, she knows it!

Reality is setting in for her. She knows her time is up. Esteban put that final nail in her coffin today.

Her breathing was extremely shallow today and her forehead frowned and stressed.

Her lady friend lawyer is only trying to keep her spirits up, as even she knows her client's time is up. Those friendly giggles and smiles they exchange between them, are only a way that Willmott keeps Arias' wrath under control !

The defense is doing an excellent job, Jodi can be really grateful that she had a team like them to have supported and stood by her and fought for her.

There will be NO room for any appeal, NONE. Kirk Nurmi made sure of that. All the mistrials he applied for, all the complaints made, every single thing that the two of them did, was to make sure Arias does NOT get a retrial.

Jodi will sit on death row and she will realise that the very people that fought for her in Court will not come to her aid any longer.

We will see a picture once every blue moon of Arias on death row, her face fading, her eyes tired, grey hair. She will wish she is dead.

Once she is sent to death row, Nurmi and Willmott will go on with their lives, sit back and thank God that Arias will not see the light of day again.

Anyone who thinks this was "the longest trial like ever" obviously didn't watch the OJ Simpson trial. NINE MONTHS. Yes, NINE MONTH trial.

She won't be going back until the end of the day. IIRC the jail doesn't run a shuttle service during the day. Moo

I believe she has to sit in a holding cell til the end of the day when all prisoners from court are shuttled back...sucks to be Jodi! :floorlaugh:

She needs to be destroyed. Whether that happens in a court of law or she dies of old age. She will go down in flames. And no one, save her regarded family and that old guy, will care. There is nothing worth saving. You can't medicate empathy. Sorry for those that are dealing with issues with their own kids. But there is not and will not ever be a drug that somehow makes someone who lacks empathy for others feel it.

And as much as I dislike the defense team , you are correct, they did what they were supposed to do and tried the best they could. I don't like it though.

According to Beth Karas, HLN, said from the Sheriff's Public Information Officer, the bomb sniffing dog always does sweeps, it was just late today.

I think we are all entitled to examine the evidence and critique what we find fault with. We don't have to work with the ME's opinion to be solidly on Travis' side.

Also, I note that every attorney on here thus far who has given an opinion believes Travis was shot first and several people with hunting expertise and expertise with .25's, as well as some in the health care profession who have witnessed gun shot wounds to the head, believe Travis could have been shot first and moved around and talked for a while in that condition. So there is room for doubt and we should be able to voice that doubt.

But what we can and should do is possibly leave that conversation to the sequence of events thread which i think is devoted to the issue?

I'm bumping my post to ask whether the ME negated the possibility of Travis lunging like a linebacker and rushing at her after being shot in the head. Anyone?

ETA: I'm not trying to contradict my statement above. I want to know what he testified to, not debate the sequence here!!!

Very profound post. The bolded part especially resonated with me. I agree with your prediction. She's not getting out of this and her revolting bashing of the victim really did her in. That's what caused the most anger toward her, I think.

FYI the jury has already seen both the crime scene pics AND the autopsy pics more than just a couple times now. Some of the pics have been shown multiple times. They will see them again during closing arguments and the photos will be available to them during their deliberations.

There is no certainty Arias will get death. She might; then again, she might not. It's not an automatic and it's ultimately up to 12 people. I know that will anger some people, but that's the way it is.

Maybe JW shouldn't be so happy about Juror #8 (if in fact she is!).

I can easily see a juror who actually favors Jodi wanting off this trial more than one who believes the State. Having to go in out-numbered (prob) and argue your case FOR Jodi would be extremely difficult.

To me if a juror wants off this case at this point, it's more likely they don't want that kind of conflict.
