OH! This is so scary. Thank God for smart grandmother & mother! This guy was the real deal. He had:

Police said they seized several items from Graham's vehicle, including a fully-loaded handgun, knives, a parachute cord, cable ties and maps of the White Mountains.

A New Hampshire man is behind bars in Maine after authorities said he tried to kidnap a 2-year-old boy from a park-and-ride in Bowdoinham.

James Graham, 30, of Newmarket, N.H., is charged with attempted kidnapping and assault in connection with the incident that happened on May 22 at 8 p.m.

According to court papers obtained by WMTW News 8, Graham is accused of approaching two women with the child in the parking lot of the park-and-ride and told them the child was going home with him.

The court documents also said more items were seized from Graham's home in New Hampshire.
He is being held at the Two-Bridges Regional Jail on $250,000.

He made his initial appearance May 24 and is due back in court July 24 for a status conference hearing at the superior court in Bath, Maine.
 
Whoa! Thank goodness gram and mom kept their heads. That is one seriously frightening guy.

All I could find on him is his middle initial is "D" and that as of 2011 he lived in Tacoma, Washington serving in the Air Force. At some point he lived in Florida at Hulmburt. Then a few places in Maine. I didn't want to link as I found info from an obituary. Other than that nada.
 
February 2014:

BATH — A New Hampshire man has been sentenced to just over five years in prison for trying to kidnap a 2-year-old boy at a Maine park-and-ride lot.

Foster’s Daily Democrat reports that 30-year-old James Graham of Newmarket, N.H., was convicted in Bath Superior Court of attempted kidnapping and assault and sentenced to five years and three months in prison.

March 2015:

The Maine Supreme Judicial Court on Thursday rejected an appeal by a New Hampshire man who claimed he shouldn’t have been convicted of trying to kidnap a boy from his grandmother’s arms in a Bowdoinham park-and-ride lot because he suffered from a mental abnormality...

At trial, psychologist Elise Magnuson testified that she felt Graham had suffered a psychotic break caused by family issues and his experience serving in the Air Force, according to court records.
