Mary Lou was last seen on July 20, 1972 which was her 16th birthday. One of her parents dropped her off at a friend's house in Waverly, New York where she was supposed to babysit. Later, her mother went back with her birthday cake and gifts. The occupants of the house said Marylou never arrived there, but her belongings and a change of clothes were found there. Police were called and a search was conducted, but Marylou was never found.
