The description of her dentures doesn't fit the UID precisely. The UID is described as having a bridge (with one upper tooth #6 present and three others that were missing postmortem), while CCA is described as having "dentures" on her uppers and a "partial plate" on her lowers. But I would say that's close enough to think the descriptions might not have been precise.

The timeline (10 months) looks reasonable.

But the other stats are all a bit off. The heights are off by 3 inches. Probably borderline for skeletal remains. And her age is just below the estimate. And Orleans Parish is about 850 miles from Independence MO.

This are probably enough discrepancies that I would guess probably not. But the resemblance, the timeframe and the dental situation looks interesting enough that it might be worth a look anyway.

Mary Ann Perez?

https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/14115/81/

There's no dental for her & her DOB isn't known but it also says she was 33 when she went missing from Chalmette, LA (near NOLA) in 1976. How long do they estimate this UID had been deceased for?
The height fits. Her Namus page says initial inquiry is under way for DNA.

ETA: Ah, I just saw that it says 1982 is the UID's probable year of death. Unlikely that it's Mary Ann, then.

Anna Ciaccio? There's a photo from 1 year before she went missing here:
https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/2774/20/

Her Namus profile doesn't seem to have a lot of info. No info on the circrumstances. Says no dental info is currently available. The age would be a few years off.

She disappeared from Nebraska, which is pretty far from NOLA. But there are some Ciaccios in the Greater NOLA area. (Even though everyone thinks white New Orleanians are predominantly Francophone, there are many people of Italian & Sicilian descent as NO was at one time the second largest port of entry for Italians/Sicilians.) Maybe she was from NO originally, lived there at one time, or had family there?

SALLIE MARGARET REED

Reed went missing from Thibodaux, LA, in Lafourche Parish, but her car was impounded in Opelousas, LA, in St. Landry Parish. There's no other information available about Sallie or the circumstances under which she went missing. The little that's known doesn't support Sallie as a match, but it doesn't completely rule her out, either. The physical resemblance is pretty close, though. The deep, wideset eyes, high cheek bones and angular jaw, and even the lips and nose look very similar to me.

If you look closely at the photo on the left, you can see a heavy shadow closing in of Reed's face, causing her chin to ppear very pointed. So I added the grainy photo on the right to give a better idea of the actual shape of the chin.

Reed: Missing since February 1976
Jane Doe: Remains found December 1982

Reed: Ht. 5'7
Doe: Est 5'4

Reed: Disappeared at 22, would've been 28 in Dec 1982
Doe: Est 34-44

Reed: no dental information nor DNA at this time.

Sallie looks like a possibility to me, Bessie.

Something about this lady reminds me of Ida Faye Basco who went missing with either her husband or boyfriend (I can't locate any information or even a name for him, I would guess though that it is his arm around her in the photo) from East Baton Rouge Parish in 1979.

I know her age and height are a bit off, but her nose and shape of her face looks similar to me.

I see there are quite a few suggestions already for this UID and I do agree Sallie Margaret Reed does resemble her. Was she or any other suggestions above ever submitted?

I came across Sharon Hensley missing from Louisiana and her last known photo strongly reminds me of this UID. Even though there is quite a time gap between Sharon's official missing date in 1973 and UID being found in 1982, and also height difference, there is not much information on circumstances of her disappearance so there could be some possibility that it is her(?). She was 24 when reported missing in 1973 which 9 years later, in 1982, would make her 33 when UID was located. There is DNA available but no dentals.

Imagine Sharon age progressed by 9 years...

Thin gold necklace adorned with small gold balls every two inches or so.

Entire upper plate of the skeleton's mouth was a dental replacement

Well well Faye wears an upper plate !!!!!!! I knew I remembered that I also knew she had a different last name I'm at work can someone send this in ?

I don't think the husband went missing , IIRC he was a suspect .

I don't think the husband went missing , IIRC he was a suspect .

Researched Ida, she was married Basco was her maiden name there is a court record in 1977 believe they may have separated however never divorced. Thinking she disappeared with her boyfriend not husband, still looking for more information on her.

wait I always mix these two up they are both Fayes , and both born in 56 , anyhoo I meant this one!

Can anyone explain what is likely meant by "Advanced localized pathological changes were noted on the left arm bones."

From the skeletal finding on NaMus: https://identifyus.org/en/cases/2213

Just guessing...Metastatic breast cancer including bone cancer in the left arm?
If that is the case, she likely had healed fractures in the arm and also was terminally ill (stage 4 cancer).

Was Bettina Antone ever looked at as a possible? https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/17784/21

Gardener...If my guess is correct about metastatic cancer this may be a good match...Sandra Matott
