Amy Fitzpatrick went missing on the evening of New Years Day 1st January 2008 at approximately 10pm when she left her friends house in the tourist resort of Riviera Del Sol on the Costa Del Sol to take the 10 minute walk to her house.

Audrey intends to bury some of Amy’s belongings beside Dean. A family friend told The Sun that Audrey has accepted that Amy is most likely dead. A coroner may request the Minister for a direction to hold an inquest and the coroner may then issue a Death Certificate. Audrey hopes this may happen next year.

As far as I am aware there is no evidence that Amy may be dead, why such a hurry to end the search?.......I hope they keep looking for her and consider that if Amy was so desperate to return to her father in Ireland, she may have tried to arrange transport or that she was abducted and someone may still have her in hiding. I was living in Spain when Amy went missing, my daughter is a year younger and had this happened to us, I would never, ever give up looking.

Sunday World article from 2011.

Amy spent a lot of time on internet chat sites it has emerged, a fact that was the subject of tensions in the home. Police also followed up the mystery disappearance of a car belonging to a friend of Amy's stepdad, which the teenager may have had access to.

Richard O'Shea worked in the local Tricki Ricki bar where Mr Mahon and Audrey socialised. He reported the car stolen around the time of Amy's disappearance but it has never been found.

Mahon has been charged with the murder of Amy's brother Dean Fitzpatrick

ETA wow I am actually crying, I hope the family can get some answers about Amy too.

Thinking of you all of the time Amy, my daughter was just a year younger than you when you disappeared and we had just moved out to Spain, I spoke with your dad via pm on an expat forum and he was beside himself and trying everything in his power to get some answers and find you, my heart goes out to him and you..........please hurry and find your way home to him xx

Oh wow.it sounds like the McCann all.over again. Like they refuse to.acknowledge parents can and do kill children. /

Next court appearance will be before 5th June 2014.

I have previously read comments/rumours that Dean had gone to confront Mahon about Amy's disappearance but have not read it in the press until now.

Dean, a father of one, died from a stab wound in May 2013, sustained during an altercation with Mahon.

He had allegedly gone to confront Mahon over the disappearance of his sister Amy Fitzpatrick on New Year’s Day 2008.

I am angered that none of the UK national papers seem to have published the recent developments, there are many expats who returned to UK in the last couple of years as well as to Ireland, someone may be encouraged to come forward with information who wouldn't dare to before.

Still no sign of Amy. :tears::tears: I wish the Spanish police could trace the car that was stolen from Mahon's friend just after Amy disappeared, I can't help thinking that it may have some relevance.
