Shelton was last seen going to bed at 11:45 p.m., last night. Shelton’s grandmother went to wake her at approximately 1 p.m. today and she was not there, according to the sheriff

Two suspects have been taken into custody by the Miller County Sheriff's Department

WTH?

I'm wondering if one of the 2 suspects lived there also.
If not, I'm thinking this poor girl would have been the one to unplug the camera. What did they do to lure her out?
Poor mom is on her way from Afghanistan.

I was looking for something else this morning and found the initial article - after her body had been found, since there was no missing thread, I just wanted her to have a thread since it sure seemed like foul play. I'll be interested to see what becomes of this.

Same here.
Thanks for the tip on the comments. Sometimes I don't read them because all too often the commenters end up arguing over politics

This poor girl, moved to a new area, lived with new family, mom is gone. All of that is hard enough on a young teen

Rest in paradise lovely young Macala. My prayers are with her family and loved ones. May justice be swift and severe!

This makes me sick. This must have preyed on her trust, he was her Uncle, she should have been able to feel safe with him, and I bet he used this to his advantage. I hope that she didn't suffer.

Rest in peace, beautiful girl. :candle:

Was she at her grandmother's home or step-grandmother's home? I've scanned most of the news stories and FB, but I hadn't seen that answered. Thanks in advance.

Poor little girl. Her mom was sent off to fight in a war so Macala had to move to another house, which was already occupied by multiple families. Life must have become very topsy-turvy for this poor little sweetie. RIP Macala. Life wasn't fair to you.

Do we know how many sisters are still in that home?

A Miller County man will spend the rest of his life in prison for the shocking death of a 13-year-old Iberia girl in 2013.

Steven Neal Henderson was accused of killing Macala Shelton in rural southeast Miller County in June 2013. He entered a guilty plea as an Alford plea Friday, Nov. 21 at the Miller County Courthouse in Tuscumbia...

As part of the deal, the death penalty was revoked for spending life in prison without the possibility of parole. An additional charge of armed criminal action was dismissed as part of the deal.
