Her mother carried her daughter out of their Willimantic apartment on Thursday night and cried hysterically that the girl was not breathing.
A neighbor performed CPR until an ambulance arrived, according to The Hartford Courant.
Lam told police she returned home after 9pm and noticed the baby lying in bed with vomit all around her.
She was babbling, her face was swollen and her body was bruised.
Ramos told her she probably had Lyme Disease, which he suffered from as a child. When the child stopped breathing, 911 was called.

Outside court, a woman who didn't want to be identified says she's sixth months pregnant with Ramos' child and she doesn't believe he would ever do something like this.

"Carroll loves kids, he would never do anything like this," the woman said. "He raises ones who aren't even his."

The court records also showed that another woman who baby sits the girl says she was acting strange earlier in the week, screaming when she was trying to change her diaper and give her a bath. She also says Lam told her the girl fell and hit a heater which is why her eyes were black and blue.

"He wasn't the only one in the home or around her," said Johnson.

Still no name for the little girl, or a picture.

I DM article, he says the child must have Lyme disease. He had it when he was a child, I wonder if it made his genitals look bruised, his eyes swell closed?
And in 2nd article, babysitter says that toddler (still nameless) screamed when she tried to change her diaper and give her a bath. Also says mother told her that child fell on a heater, hence the black and blue eyes.

So it wasn't child abuse, the heater and Lyme disease did it! :facepalm:

Every time I read something like this, I think about what these sweet , innocent babies must have been thinking, let alone feeling, in the last weeks, days, moments of their lives. Was she wondering when her mama was going to make it stop? Was she just waiting for someone to rescue her? God, the betrayal. Poor , precious little baby girl.

Instead of defending him, that pregnant one should be thanking her lucky stars that her child hadn't been born yet, so he couldn't get his hands on it!

He has three cases pending in Superior Court in Danielson. In one case, he is accused of punching and choking a pregnant woman he was dating in April. He is also charged in a drug case and with violating probation.

This is the first time in my WS experience that I have teared up. Mom finding her babbling in her bed is what got me--just picturing this poor little baby and imagining what on earth she was tying to say. Oh boy....

The more I read cases like this on WS, the more I feel that Mom's need to really do some research before taking a man into a live-in arrangement around your children.

A Willimantic man convicted of delivering a series of beatings that killed a 3-year-old girl in 2013 was sentenced today to 30 years in prison – a much more lenient sentence than prosecutors requested.

During the sentencing of Carroll Bumgarner-Ramos inside Danielson Superior Court, Judge Patricia Swords excoriated the 32-year-old man, stating the likelihood of his rehabilitation was “minimal.”

“You are vicious, cruel and cold-blooded,” she said. “The photos of this crime are almost beyond belief, that a human being could treat a small child like that.”
