Missing girl’s mom fears worst

The last time Josephine Garcia spoke to her daughter was last Friday night.

Cindy L. Rivera, 19, called her to tell her that Rivera’s ex-husband had shown up, and he was drunk, Garcia said. Garcia told her daughter to chase him away and to go inside.

Garcia said her daughter didn’t appear to be scared so the mother stayed at a friend’s house that night. When she returned the following morning to the home on Peggy Lane where she lives with her daughter, young grandson and a client, Garcia found the garage door open and her 1-year-old grandson alone with her client.

Family claims young mother kidnapped

The family of a missing young mother have taken matters into their own hands. Posting pictures of the men they think kidnapped and possibly killed the 19-year-old.

When her sisters looked for her, they knew right away something wasn't right. They say her slippers were in the road and there were signs of a struggle.

The family believes they know who is behind Cindy’s disappearance. They posted the mens’ pictures all over town hoping that someone will give them answers, but state police says those men have hired lawyers and are not talking.

One of the men is the father of Rivera's oldest son.

Family claims man confessed to mother's murder

Relatives say the main suspect in the disappearance of a young mother confessed to them that he killed her. But, months later, State Police say they are still working the case and don't have enough to go on.

According to the report a family member of the father of Cindy Rivera’s children says the young man showed up the day after Cindy disappeared, covered in scratches and wearing only boxer shorts. He said he killed Cindy and needed help getting a room in Albuquerque.

The relative told police she purchased a hotel room at the La Quinta Inn off Gibson for the man. State police immediately had Albuquerque Police go there, but when they got here they said the room was empty and it looked like the guy had just split.

State Police have searched his home near Las Vegas where authorities believe Rivera's body may be buried.

Police say they still need more information, and that this case is far from the back burner.

Las Vegas, N.M., family offers 50k for missing daughter

A Las Vegas, N.M., family whose daughter went missing two years ago is offering a $50,000 reward for information that leads to finding 21-year-old Cindy Rivera, state police said Thursday. Rivera, who also goes by her nickname “Tig,” was last ween on June 29, 2012, at her house on Peggy Lane in Las Vegas when she was 19 years old, a state police news release said.
