Independence police recover stolen car with sleeping children inside

The two children were still sleeping inside the car. The children were unharmed, and they were quickly reunited with their mother.

Officers believe the person that stole the car was the one who called them to tell them where it was. The investigation is ongoing.

Have never left valuable items in my vehicle with the keys in the ignition - groceries, household items following a shopping trip to Walmart, Home Depot, kids etc. That's just me though.
