Family of missing girl ‘heartbroken’ as search nears one month
By Nicholas Palomino Mendoza
July 9, 2013 at 2:32 pm
Arteaga said he suggested the two leave the party so they could go back to his apartment to discuss their argument.
“The argument kept on going, and she told me she didn’t want to sleep at my apartment,” he said. “So I ended up taking her back to her place, and that is the last time I ever saw her.”

Rick Salinas, Adrienne’s father, said Adrienne is an intelligent, responsible and motivated young woman who loves watching movies and reading.
Before her disappearance, Adrienne had been recovering from two major surgeries after having valley fever.
“She is like a little flower, very feminine and frail,” Rick said. “She is my baby, and she doesn’t deserve this. She is a good, good girl.”

Arteaga said the last he heard from Salinas was around 4:40 a.m. on June 15 - a half hour before her cell phone went dead.

Ariz. Police to Search Lake for Body of Missing Woman
June 18, 2013

by Geetika Rudra

Tonight Arizona police are considering conducting a sonar search of the bottom of a community lake for the body of a Tempe college student whose car was found with two punctured tires, according to police.
"Unfortunately, we have been down this road too many times before, where we have found bodies of young people in the lake. Nothing indicates that she is down there, but we are trying to eliminate everything we can," Sgt. Mike Pooley of the Tempe Police Department told ABCNews.com.

On Wednesday, authorities released surveillance video they hope will help find her.
The video shows the gas station where a cab came to pick Salinas up after the party. You never see her at the gas station, and you never see her get in the cab.
Police say the cab driver and Salinas' boyfriend have been cleared at this point and they don't suspect any foul play on their parts.
The reward being offered is $10,000.
If you have any information on Salinas' whereabouts, you are asked to call the Tempe Police Department at 480-350-8311.

The video is from the AMPM near Hardy Drive and University in Tempe. It shows the moments from when Salinas called a cab to meet her at the store and when her cell phone went off. The 19-year-old vanished without a trace before making it to the AMPM.
Police believe the people here coming in and out may have seen her or something suspicious that night.
"If you look at that entire video and you see somebody you may know... we just want to know if you saw anything that night," says Tempe Police Sgt. Mike Pooley.

Police: Body found in Apache Junction is that of missing Tempe woman
The father of a missing 19-year-old college student said Thursday that police have identified badly decomposed remains found a week ago in an Apache Junction desert wash as that of his daughter.
“I know she is in heaven and she is at peace,’’ Rick Salinas said. “Right now we are in deep grief and mourning. It is indescribable pain.’’
Rick Salinas said he received a telephone call from police Thursday afternoon notifying him that the remains found in the wash by a property owner on Aug. 6 are that of his beloved daughter, Adrienne Salinas, a Gateway Community College student.

Remains found in desert may be 19-year-girl who went missing two months ago after arguing with boyfriend at house party
Skeletal remains found in the Arizona desert could be those of a 19-year-old student who went missing in June, police said.

More than 100 officers combed the sparse desert in Apache Junction, near Tempe, where the body was discovered by a property owner on August 6.

Because the remains were so decomposed, authorities have only confirmed they believe it could be college student Adrienne Salinas today.

Remains found in a dry wash in Apache Junction, Ariz. were confirmed Thursday to be those of missing Arizona woman Adrienne Salinas.
The human remains were found Aug. 6 in a sparsely populated part of Apache Junction on the eastern outskirts of the Phoenix metropolitan area. Police said they identified Salinas using DNA evidence.
"We did receive information from the Department of Public Safety crime lab that the remains that were found last week are that of Adrienne Salinas," Tempe Police Sgt. Mike Pooley said.

Tempe police Sgt. Mike Pooley said confirmation was made, through DNA testing, by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
"At this point in the investigation, we do not conclusively know Adrienne's cause or manner of death. We will continue to work with the Medical Examiner's office and other law enforcement partners, but we cannot rule anything out and we have not as of yet classified this case as a homicide," Pooley said in a statement Friday afternoon.

Monday’s operation is part of a planned strategy by detectives to do smaller, more targeted searches utilizing GPS coordinates, Pooley said.
