A 13-year-old boy told Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office deputies this weekend that relatives with whom he has lived since May 2012 routinely beat him with a baseball bat, sliced his skin with a heated knife and once drove a nail through his palm.

Brandon Pernell Gunn, 27, and Viviana Alma Gunn, 34, were both charged with counts of first-degree child assault Monday in Kitsap County District Court after a medical examination of the boy and a search of the Silverdale home where the couple lived.

The medical examination produced evidence of open wounds, some infected. A piece of metal was found inside the boy’s hand. Blood stains were found at the Silverdale home where the Gunns lived with the 13-year-old.

The boy was discovered by police sleeping on a park bench late Friday in Bremerton.

The Gunns were arrested Saturday morning and held on $500,000 bail.

This case is near where I live. I have seen this couple in the area before, but do not know them. We do, however, have a mutual friend.

The dad is currently on active duty status in the Navy (he's a submariner).

According to things I have read (on FB) and heard, Viviana's last name is actually Warnock.

The 13yo child also has a FB page, but since he is a minor, I am not sure I'm allowed to post his since he's no longer missing.

I really hope this boy knows that there are so many people that care about him. People that don't know him that are praying for him and would love to have him for a son! I really hope that a family member that loves him can step in and show him the love he deserves!

New charges for guardians accused of torturing 13-year-old boy

PORT ORCHARD, Wash. -- Kitsap County prosecutors filed additional charges against the Silverdale couple accused of repeatedly beating and torturing a 13-year-old boy.

Brandon and Viviana Gunn were charged with unlawful imprisonment on Monday, but they were back in court Tuesday to face assault and kidnapping charges.

Police say in 2012 the couple became legal guardians of Brandon Gunn's 13-year-old brother.

(CNN) -- A Seattle-area couple is in custody for allegedly holding captive and torturing the man's 13-year-old brother for three months -- including driving a nail through the boy's hand and keeping him in a cellar for days without food, the prosecutor said Wednesday.

Brandon Gunn, 27, and his wife Viviana, 34, are in the Kitsap County Jail outside Seattle on $500,000 bail each, charged with kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment and four counts of assault, county prosecutor Cami Lewis said.

After earlier pleading guilty to torturing a child, Viviana Gunn, 34, of the 1100 NW Cloninger Court in Silverdale, was sentenced today in Kitsap County Superior Court to 375 months in prison, or just over 31 years.
