I was looking on Namus and found a missing woman in Utah - her number is NamUs MP # 1380. I thought that the two had similar characteristics. Namus has her listed as being pregnant but it didn't say how far along she was. When I went to Utah's website -http://publicsafety.utah.gov/bci/UTAHmissingpersons.html#peterson - and looked her up it said she was 5 months pregnant at the time. Just wondering what people think about this one.

She does look very good as a possible. Her height is within an inch. Location is close enough. They only gave a 1-year postmortem interval on the Jane Doe. But the clothing found is described as "fragmentary and partially rotted", and the remains were entirely skeletal. So a four-year timeframe is not out of the question..

Here's her Charley Project page:

Also, I think if she were traveling from Utah to Kentucky, she would have taken I-80 to get there and would have had to have gone through Sweetwater County Wyoming. I am not sure which part of Sweetwater County Wyoming she was found in, it's pretty large.

I was just looking at this again, and realized that I don't think Linda Peterson was ever submitted. She looks to me like a very strong possible match. Everything lines up, even the blue jeans.

So I just sent an e-mail to Janet Franson and Jerry Brown to see if these two cases can be compared.

Janet Franson replied that they can't do a dental comparison to Linda Peterson because Linda's dental records are so bad. And since Linda was adopted, they can't do a DNA FRS comparison.

I am guessing that they can't get DNA from the fetus to compare to Linda's husband.

What about Carlene Brown?
https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/14488/0/
fingerprints/dentals not available, DNA inquiry made (assuming not in the system)
I know that the timing is WAY off and the height is way off, but hear me out. Women don't tend to stop growing until they're at least 24 (even if only by a couple inches.) Carlene was only 19 when she went missing. Hormones can cause growth spurts. (Besides growing sideways lol)
Her friend Christy Gross was found not too far from this UID. the only thing that separates them is Hwy 80 and a county road.

Could she have possibly been a kidnapping victim and then "disposed of" when found to be pregnant? Afraid of having to reveal her identity for a hospital visit? I know it's a messed up theory but I've heard of much worse. MOO

I am pretty certain in my own mind that we now know who this UID is, and the authorities just can't prove it.

Just as with Linda Bronaugh to DoeNet 299UFTX (UP3862); and Mindi Chambers to DoeNet 72UFTX (UP4573), this one will remain unprovable.

I just found this page that shows Linda Peterson's dentals from old military records. Linda Peterson, 29, 1978, UT, "Orange Maternity Top" - Cold Case Investigations I don't know how old they are but I don't think fillings are in the right spot on some of them.

Thanks verdandie. If you presume that the old military dental chart is correct, then there would be three irreconcilable differences in the dental chart.

Three teeth on the lower jaw (#22, 23, and 38) all show natural unrestored teeth for the UID, and either "F" (meaning filling) or "R". I'm not sure what the "R" means. Maybe "Root Canal", or maybe "Restoration", but in either case, it would be irreconcilable to the UID's natural unrestored tooth.

All instances of "F", "R", "A", or "P" on the UID's dental chart are not necessary inconsistent to the corresponding "N" on the MP's chart because she might have had dental work subsequent to the dental appointment that produced those records.

But I'm not going to presume that those old military records are correct. The NamUs FO characterized them as "so bad".

I found the doenetwork listing when I was looking at some other wyoming murders and came to the same conclusion about Linda Peterson being a potential match. Came on here to see if anyone else had thought it was a probability.

I wonder if there is any mention of what kind of jewelry she wore during an interview. Surely they would've asked her husband what kind of jewelry she wore, especially about her wedding ring. I would think if he recognized the watch and rings, it would be something to go on.

I also believe this is Linda.

i never knew that about mindi chambers, why? because both of her parents are deceased?

:eek:fftopic:

Yes. Both her parents are deceased, and she has no biological siblings. Her mother died under suspicious circumstances when she was very young - probably at the hands of her father. Mindi's father was a truck driver and died in an accident in his big rig. He is suspected of being responsible for Mindi's disappearance.

From what I understand, there might be maternal aunts available, but I don't know whether or not they have been asked to give DNA.

One name on the ruleouts list: Virginia Uden.

https://identifyus.org/en/cases/11332

I guess that would be because she's missing from Wyoming. Not much else about her fits. I've never read anything that mentioned her possibly being pregnant at the time she "disappeared."

Her husband recently confessed to killing her (and her two sons). He said that he put them in drums and dropped them in (very deep) Fremont Lake. If he was going to confess after such a long time, I don't see why he'd lie about what he'd done with the bodies.
