Police ask for help in search for missing man

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Columbia Police are asking the public for help finding a man who has not been heard from since Friday.

The family of 25-year-old Huy Quang Pham reported him missing Sunday after they came to Columbia to visit him, but could not find him.

He may be traveling to the Atlanta area.

Pham's last known address was in the 2000 block of Greene Street.

He is described as Asian with black hair and brown eyes. He is about 5'9" tall and weighs about 150 pounds.

He may be driving a 2006 Sliver Pontiac Torrent with South Carolina license plate DZV-833.

Pham has ties to Rock Hill, SC.

Thank you. It sounds like he may have split the area. I wonder if he is supposed to be a grad student at USC? The address is very close.

Investigators say they have received conflicting information on his possible whereabouts."


"Pham’s Facebook page says he attended Eastside High School in Greenville. He also has family living in Atlanta and in Rock Hill."

I'm wondering about the Rock Hill & Atlanta areas. Sort of opposite directions from Cola.

Interim Police Chief Ruben Santiago hopes the public can assist investigators in locating a missing person.

The family of Huy Quang Pham (DOB: 7-23-1988) last heard from him on Friday, August 30, 2013.

His parents came to town to visit with him but did not actually see Pham.

When they didn’t hear from him for several days, his parents filed a missing persons report with the Columbia Police Department on Sunday, September 1, 2013.

Pham is described as an Asian male, with black hair and brown eyes. He is approximately 150 pounds and stands 5’9” tall.

His last known address was 2009 Greene Street in Columbia.

Investigators have received conflicting information on his possible whereabouts.

Pham’s family is extremely concerned about him.

Pham may be driving a 2006 Silver Pontiac Torrent with SC tags DZV-833. He may also be traveling to the Atlanta, Georgia area. Pham has ties to Rock Hill, S.C.
