GUILTY CA - Jaelen, 13, & Faith Edge, 9, murdered, Santa Ana, 14 Sept 2013

While I don't know what this woman was going through in life, I just don't think I'll ever understand how they can succeed in killing their children, but then fail to kill themselves.
I know that sounds harsh, but you get to a point where it's hard to feel sorry for someone who kills their children. Go ahead & kill yourself if you must, but leave the kids alone. Surely there's someone in their lives who will take care of them.

RIP Jaelen and Faith.

Marilyn Edge was supposed to hand the children over to her ex husband Mark, but murdered them instead. After a years long custody battle Edge didn't like what the Judge had to say so she simply walked out of the custody hearing.

Mark Edge is now hospitalized at a VA hospital. Marilyn Edge's hearing has been postponed for now.

From the same article:

If convicted, she faces a minimum sentence of life in state prison without the possibility of parole. The special circumstances cited by prosecutors include
committing multiple murders and murder by poisoning.

So, she poisoned her two children. How awful!!

RIP Jaelen and Faith.

September 2015:

She drowned my son, and then she basically beat and drown my daughter,” said Mark Edge.
Marilyn Edge now sits behind bars, waiting to go on trial for the murders of Jaelen and Faith. In her first court appearance she begged for the death penalty, but entered a plea of not guilty...

“She wants to control what happens to her now. The same as she controlled the courts here in Georgia,” said Mark Edge.
For six years, he says his ex-wife fought his efforts to get regular, unsupervised visits with their children. A judge finally ruled on his behalf, giving him not only visitation, but full custody. But three days later, police knocked on his door to tell him his children would come back to Georgia, but only to be buried.

A mother was sentenced to life in prison without parole on Friday for the 2013 murder of her two children in Santa Ana.

Marilyn Kay Edge pleaded guilty to killing her 13-year-old son Jaelen and 10-year-old daughter Faith in a hotel room after losing a custody battle in Georgia.

Prosecutors said the Arizona woman poisoned and smothered her children before crashing her car in a Costa Mesa parking lot in an attempt to ignite a propane tank and kill herself.

How could a judge not notice this woman was not normal during a six year custody battle? In all that time the parents never had psychological assessments? Horrible.
