A 3-year-old Iowa girl died from injuries allegedly sustained when her daycare provider threw her to the ground for not removing her coat, police claim.

According to court documents obtained by KTIV, Rochelle Sapp called Autumn Elgersma's mother Oct. 29 and told her that her daughter had injured her head in a fall. Sapp, who runs a daycare out of her Orange City home, said that that the 3-year-old had fallen down some stairs.

More at link. :(

arrrggghhhhh So sad and mad at the same time.

RIP little one.

Oh, how horribly sad. You send your child to a caregiver to be care for . I wish people who had little or no patience would stay away from jobs caring for others .

Poor lil' punkin. :( I can't even imagine what that family is going through. She just didn't want to take her coat off! Who cares?! Let her keep it on for cryin' out loud. :banghead:
It's amazing though, what little it can take for people to loose their cool.

RIP sweetie :(

The suspect has a little smirk going in her mug shot. Despicable.

What in the world is wrong with people?! What is she doing running a daycare?!

Dear God in Heaven. We are supposed to be their protectors. She was probably cold. :(

If children make you so mad you feel you need to throw them to the ground, you shouldn't be working as a day care provider. You probably shouldn't be around children at all.

People who hurt children should be locked away for life. It takes a 'special' kind of person to hurt something so small and innocent.

Rochelle Lynn Sapp asked a judge to move her first-degree murder and child-endangerment trial away from Orange City due to widespread publicity of the case by newspaper and television news media that might taint the opinions of potential jurors there.

The story garnered national attention because, in part, of one of Sapp's jail-booking photos, in which she appears to be smirking.

A judge ruled last week to move the trial to Carroll, which is about 90 miles southeast of Orange City and is in a different judicial district. The trial is set for Nov. 13.

I noticed that managed to wipe that smirk off her face for the 2nd booking photo
