Alfred Doc Coleman, Aug. 4, 1978
Alfred Harwood Coleman worked at Oakville Farmers Supply.
On the morning of Aug. 4, 1978, the normally prompt employee didnt show up to open the store. A friend went to his house to check on him.
Colemans body was found lying in the open doorway of his Oakville home. The 54-year-old had been shot in the head with a 12-gauge shotgun.
Investigators speculated he was called to the kitchen door sometime that night.
At the time of the homicide, deputies suspected robbery was the motive. Nothing in the house was disturbed but money may have been taken from his wallet.
