Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

Oh no, this doesn't sound good.
No wallet, no glasses, no medication, no phone.
He is diabetic.

Lake of the Ozarks Area
Camdenton is in the Lake of the Ozarks area. It's the off-season but still lots of activities going on in the area. Some of the facts are puzzling to me.
Why would he go to a store without his wallet? How was he going to pay for his purchase?
Why would he be driving without his glasses?
It seems to me that in any case he didn't plan to be gone long...if he really took off on his own. I am a little suspicious of the cigarette-buying story.

Hmmm
I guess I'm wondering if the neighbor actually saw the man drive off or only noticed the car leaving and couldn't tell who was in it.

With only one leg, he would be, seemingly, an easy target if that is what happened. He's been missing for WAY too long, so I don't think he's with us given his medicinal needs.

Clearly I'm not the sleuth I thought I was. I never made a connection between the amputation and diabetes. I was caregiver to my mom who was diabetic. When her blood sugar went too high (she loved and sneaked candy at any opportunity) she became quite irrational and impulsive.
It doesn't seem his vehicle has been found. There are countless back roads in the area as anything that so much as gets a breeze from the lake is sold as vacation property, no matter how bad the access. There are also countless boat ramps and water access points in the area. Many of them would normally have no one around them this time of year and some would be accessible from private drives, etc.
I hope he's safe somewhere, but we've also had extremely cold temperatures going down to minus 15 to minus 20 this past week as well as a fair amount of snow. Those temperatures, BTW, were air temperatures, not wind chills.

I suppose it would have been more suspicious if he had taken his medicine with him. Still, he only had a $13 gift card and gas for maybe 45 miles or so. He did not take his glasses or his wallet. I wouldn't think $13 would get you much in the way of cigarettes. This is another time that information is lacking. I assume he didn't make it to the store. With the searching going on it would seem that the car has been concealed somewhere or it would have been spotted by now.

Video online with additional photos
Nothing new information-wise, however this video has been posted on youtube. It has additional photos I haven't seen elsewhere.

Kind of an unusual post somehow, but MSM has had nothing since the end of December.Last edited by KateB; 04-29-2015 at 01:28 AM. Reason: repair url tag.

Can't find any updates on the body found at the Yukon truck stop. I did watch the news video and the car appears to be white rather than silver. Surely LE has checked the tag and/or VIN by now, at any rate.
Mr. Erwin was still missing as of yesterday:

According to Kelly Luttrell at the Camden County Sheriff’s Department, the case is still open, but there are no new leads in this case. Investigators are on the case and are still working with the original information given to law enforcement.

"This is my brother, he went missing December 29th out of Camdenton,"
Each flier that leaves Yavonne Erwin's hands is a leaf of hope that one more person might join the search for Donald.
