NEW ALBANY, Ind. (AP) — An Indiana house fire where three young siblings died and a fourth was badly burned began when a teenager fired a flare into the home in a property dispute with one of the residents, authorities said Tuesday........

Cashion, of New Albany, already was in custody in nearby Clark County on charges including attempted murder of a police officer stemming from a Jan. 8 car crash. He remained at the Clark County Jail in Jeffersonville on Tuesday, and records there did not indicate whether he has an attorney......more......

Oh. My. Lord!

So it was not accidental - I am speechless. Three young lives snuffed out......

From August 2014:

Judge Susan Orth sentenced 19-year-old Cody Cashion to 65 years for count 1 of murder, 65 years for count 2 of murder, 65 years for count 3 of murder and 50 years for an arson charge. The sentences will run concurrently...

Cashion pleaded guilty last month to three counts of murder and arson causing serious bodily injury...

Shelby Makowsky received a 20-year sentence for her part in the crime.

Kylie Jenks, who drove the car, faces six to 20 years behind bars when she is sentenced next month.

A 17-year-old girl who was also charged in the case was sentenced to a girls' school for her part in the deaths of the children.

From October 2014:

Kylie Jenks, 19, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit arson in July.

On Thursday, she was sentenced to 20 years in prison with no probation...

The thing the judge said bothered him the most was that Jenks and the others, once they realized the fire was deadly, went back to the scene to collect evidence that would tie them to the crime, rather than come forward.
