Attorney says:
*He was willing to answer questions

Here he is .. still not actually in custody .. Italy is so unusual.

Rafaelle:

Upset at statements by the judge.

His interview saying Rafaelle was silent and that's why he convicted him. He was in court to answer any question, but none were asked.

Attorney:

Makes no sense, American attorney.

Rafaelle:

Focus only on Amanda, why do they put me on the corner and say that I'm guilty, it makes no sense. Does he hold Amanda responsible? He cannot understand .. and he's not responsible for that, he's not saying she is, but she was the focus .. he feels like guilt by association.

Still in touch with Amanda.

Why go the border on the day of the verdict.

Why?

Wanted to celebrate exoneration .. to hang with girlfriend, but once verdict announced came back to Italy.

Does he think he can get a fair trial?

Did nothing wrong .. doesn't want to pay for someone else's peculiar behaviour.

I don't feel from the interview he turned on her at all.

Is he starting to turn on Amanda?
He says "There is nothing against me, and not too much against Amanda." And he says, "In my case" (that definitely stands out) and he does not want to "pay for someone else's peculiar behavior".

He asks why the focus was on Amanda .. simple answer would be character assassination to fill the gaps in a case with little evidence. Both are appealing.

RS talked like this before, a little more now though,

but since English is not his first language it is hard to decipher meaning from his words. One cannot interpret meaning as you would a native speaker.
