Shelley Tanis Dene, 26, was reported missing to the EPS by a family member on Nov. 8, 2013. She had been out of family contact since approximately August, 2013. Dene’s family is concerned for her welfare, as it is unusual for her to be out of contact for this length of time. At the time of her disappearance she was living at a residence in the area of 114 Street and 102 Avenue.

Dene was reported missing last November, after her family lost contact with her in August 2013. An awareness walk in her memory that will be held at Churchill Square on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Speeches, traditional smudge and prayer ceremonies with drummers and singers will also be held prior to the walk.

EDMONTON - Shelly Dene hasn’t aged or changed in nearly two years.

She’s frozen in time, a young woman with black hair cascading to her collarbones, life halted at age 25. Missing.

“I don’t want to think she’s dead,” says her grandmother, Katie Dene, 74. “I want to think she’s still alive somewhere.”

CBC Radio One's "As It Happens" is telling the stories of Canada's murdered and missing indigenous women and girls. Host Carol Off interviews Candice L'hommecourt, whose older sister Shelly Dene went missing in 2013."

Looked up Shelly Dene's story and any updates but it doesn't look like anything has been found for a while. So terrible. Pray this family receives closure soon.
