Virginia Tech student, 21, 'shot dead and stashed in sleeping bag by fellow student and her friends'

A Virginia Tech student and two of her friends have been charged in the brutal murder of a fellow female student who had just been accepted into medicine school.

Jessica Michelle Ewing, 22, is accused of killing Samanata Shrestha, 21, a popular senior, some time after 7 a.m. Saturday in the Blacksburg area.

Keifer Kyle Brown, a 23-year-old who graduated from the college last year, allegedly helped Ewing stash the body, and has been charged as an accessory in the murder....

Ugh! I have been following this story, however the details have been scarce until now. They stuffed her into a sleeping bag and abandoned her in a car?

Before Ewing was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, she told several people that she had “done something terrible,” according to the warrants.

One female, identified only as Natalie in the documents, told police that Ewing said to her: “If I tell you what I did last night, will you still love me?”

Natalie said Ewing then added, “I killed that girl.”

A total waste of 4 lives. Incredible a group of friends are willing to ruin their lives trying to help another friend cover for a murder.

I am so glad I am no longer a young person trying to grow up in this world. Stuff like this is so unbelievable to me, and is happening far too often for my brain to process. Beyond sad--- disrespect for human life (or any life) makes me angry.

strange story involving the killer jessica ewing, and the accomplice after the fact kiefer brown;

According to online records, Ewing previously faced two misdemeanor charges in Montgomery County stemming from an incident in February 2012. Both charges have since been dismissed. She was charged with storing wildlife that is unlawful to sell and trespassing after being forbidden, according to the records. She pleaded not guilty to both charges in Montgomery County General District Court and received a deferred disposition. The charges were later dismissed.

What is wrong with VT. Isn't that same college that had the shooter at it?

A former Virginia Tech student accused of killing her classmate was indicted Tuesday on a charge of second-degree murder.

Jessica Michelle Ewing, 23, was indicted by a Montgomery County grand jury on the charge that she “feloniously, knowingly and intentionally did kill and murder Samanata Shrestha,” according to the indictment in her case file...

A pretrial motion in Ewing’s case is scheduled for Aug. 4, according to online court records.

Virginia Tech has seen a lot of homicides since the Virginia Tech Massacre on April 16, 2007. :( :crying:

But why did she kill her? Was it jealousy over a boy? Jealousy over popularity?

Accessory after the fact. Why, oh why do these kids get involved? By helping a so called friend they completely stuff their lives up.

ITA. They helped a friend that murdered a friend.

With friends like that, who needs enemies?

Not many details had been released since the investigation began last February, but the prosecution’s summary of evidence, presented by Commonwealth’s Attorney Mary Pettitt on Thursday, provided a more complete picture of why Ewing killed Shrestha, a 21-year-old biology student.

Prior to having dinner at Shrestha’s apartment on that February evening, Ewing sent a text to a friend Mary Meinhart around 3 a.m. the night before and said “tomorrow night is worrisome,” referring to her upcoming evening with Shrestha. “I can’t stop this idea, it slowly creeped its way to consume my black heart,” Ewing texted. “I want to … let someone else decide, but ive [sic] already etched it in history.” When asked by her friend what exactly the idea was, Ewing said it was “just nonsense.”

The relationship between Shrestha and Ewing has been a matter of question as well, with Shrestha’s boyfriend Scot Masselli previously testifying that the two had kissed on at least one occasion and that Shrestha might have been experimenting with her sexuality.
