Macomb Police Department detectives are asking for the community's help in locating two missing pipeline workers.

Juan Bustamante, 65, and Francisco Villa, 43, are missing.

Police responded to a 911 call at 1513 E. Murray St. on Thursday, Feb. 27 at approximately 6:40 p.m. The caller said he had found blood inside the residence and believes there may have been a disturbance between his two roommates.

Macomb Police say both Bustamante and Villa's vehicles and personal belongings were no longer at the residence. Bustamante's vehicle was later found in the Macomb Walmart parking lot, abandoned. Villa's vehicle, a 2001 Volkswagen Passat with Wyoming plates 5-32139, has not been found.

Search for missing pipeline workers ends; homicide investgation continues

On Sunday, Macomb Police, along with the McDonough County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Marshals, were able to locate and apprehend Busto-Bravo in Aurora, Colo. An investigation by Immigration and Customs officials determined that Busto-Bravo's real name was not Francisco Villa.

Busto-Bravo was interviewed by authorities in Colorado as to the whereabouts of Bustamante, who had disappeared under mysterious circumstances three days prior. The 45-year-old reportedly admitted his involvement in the disappearance, indicating that Bustamante was deceased and what the possible location of his body was.

After providing information to investigators, Busto-Bravo took his own life, Lenardt said, by way of hanging.

Search for Pipeliner’s Body Continues

This was the last article posted saying :

Bustos-Bravo’s statement has not been released to Macomb Police because of an ongoing investigation into his death in Colorado. But Eric Lenardt, Deputy Chief with the Macomb Police Department, said they were told Bustos-Bravo indicated that the carpet he wrapped around Bustamante’s body ended up in the landfill.

Police say they're unsure if that mean's Bustos-Bravo took the body to the landfill or, due to the nature of his job for the pipeline, being familiar with the dumpsters he dumped the body there.
